A kayak is a small, narrow boat for one or two paddlers. They sit behind each other, looking forward as they move. The paddlers propel and maneuver the kayak with oars that have paddles at both ends.
Thus, kayaking is moving through the water in a kayak, which can be done on almost any body of water, from small rivers to the ocean. Of course, you should always keep safety in mind, stay away from large vessels and always wear a life jacket.
For many centuries kayaks have been used by the Nordic peoples for moving on the water, fishing and hunting. They were used both on inland waters and in marine coastal waters. Now kayaking is a popular recreational activity around the world.
For trips on the seas and oceans use sea kayaks. They are different from those that are rafted down mountain rivers. At sea, the main requirement for a kayak is the ability to maintain stability and controllability in heavy seas. To do this, the body of the sea kayak has a large length and a special shape of the bow and stern, which allows you to stay on the surface of the water. There are even special expedition kayaks designed for long autonomous trips. They have sealed large-capacity compartments for cargo and equipment.
For kayaking off the coast of Tenerife, we use sea kayaks for maximum safety, stability and ease of handling. After all, our task is to enjoy the landscapes of Tenerife, get some light physical activity and have a great time in the company of like-minded people and a professional guide.
